You won’t see another car from start to ﬁnish, you have our private and protected 40,000 acre conservation area which is over three times the size of Manhattan all to yourself! The spectacular landscapes of Laikipia will take your breath away and all your activities are private.
Staying here is importantly a “holiday” and there is downtime to enjoy the numerous unique and special activities that the lodge and Laikipia offer. Your stay is not the normal safari format of game drives every morning and evening and you don’t have the early starts like so many other lodges and therefore leave refreshed and relaxed!
As guests often combine the Mara with Laikipia, where they have been in a car the whole time we often don’t take guests in the vehicles and prefer to do walks in the area to get up close to all the action! We have an incredible number of elephant, and wild dog sightings are very regular. Guided by Samburu and Maasai warriors this is a very special journey into their ancient lands.

Carissa-Sleeps 2-One of the most romantic hideouts in East Africa

Carissa is perched on a rocky outcrop in a secluded corner of the property. Its luxurious new interiors are inspired by the carissa tree, found on the grounds around the house. Its bedroom, with floor to ceiling windows, offers spectacular views of the craggy peaks and deep valleys of Laikipia. With a private deck and open-air bath-tub, cozy lounge with fireplace and private dining room, Carissa is an idyllic oasis in our rugged environment.

Acacia-Sleeps 4-Magical wildlife scenery from the comfort of your villa

Acacia’s luxurious new interiors are inspired by the Acacia tree. The house is built into the mountain-side, with huge boulders forming part of its structure, with a hand-woven papyrus roof capping it. Acacia comprises of two large bedrooms, with several communal living spaces and two decks, which overlook a watering hole and have incredible views of the rugged countryside. Acacia can be booked as a complete 2-bedroom villa, or as two independent suites for two separate couples.

Boscia-Sleeps 6-Nature-inspired architecture and minimalist interiors

The largest of our houses, with 3 bedrooms and multiple communal areas, Boscia’s contemporary new interiors are inspired by the shepherd tree (boscia albitrunca). The house features a large wrap-around deck with gorgeous views of Mount Lentille, Laikipia’s tallest peak, a plunge pool and an outdoor area with a campfire, ideal to start the evening, or finish it.
