When the Maasai named this place, it was in honour of the vast landscapes that seemed to go on forever. They called it Seringit. Endless plains. Today, we know it as the Serengeti – where earth and sky collide in one of the most spectacular safari destinations in Africa. This is where you’ll find Nimali Serengeti, at the centre of this legendary, 15,000km² national park, surrounded by one of the most prolific wildlife regions on the continent.

Location

Enjoying a brand-new position close to Makoma Hill, in the heart of the central Serengeti, the reimagined Nimali Serengeti enjoys uninterrupted views out over plains dotted with kopjes on one of the Serengeti’s most renowned great wildebeest migration routes, with the herds moving through from April to June and October to December each year. The game viewing here is outstanding all year round, with large herds of buffalo and elephant, an abundance of plains game and exceptional big cat sightings.

Acccomodation

There are 12 tented suites at Nimali Serengeti, each enjoying panoramic views out over the surrounding landscapes of the central Serengeti. Two tents are connected by a shared walkway making them perfect for families. Each suite has its own private verandah and en-suite bathroom with bathtub and outdoor shower. The lodge’s central lounge, dining area and pool deck offer more than enough space to relaxin between activities, with a sunken fire pit the perfect place to toast the setting sun once the day’s adventures are over. The décor takes its inspiration from the rich landscapes of the Serengeti, with a modern, contemporary style blending effortlessly with organic textures. Elements of antique brass add a warm, vintage feel.

Activities

Nimali Serengeti’s main activities are morning and afternoon game drives, exploring one of the most wildlife-rich regions of the park. This area is particularly well known for its predators, especially lion, cheetah and leopard, all of which are seen regularly. A hot-air balloon flight over the surrounding wilderness is also highly recommended.

Family Tented Suite – Description :

Consist of 1 bedroom with a double bed + 1 bedroom with double/twin bed(s). The rate is based on 4 guests regardless of  their age. Both bedrooms are ensuite with a connecting deck. Each room has a possibility of adding either 1 adult or 1adult + 1 child or 2 childeren. Any additional pax in a room will be charged per person sharing rate.
