Il Ngwesi Lodge-Overview

Il Ngwesi Lodge is set in the idyllic Mukogodo Hills adjacent the Ngare Ndare River. Constructed from local materials, the open-air design allows for stunning panoramic views.There are six individual ‘bandas’ or cottages, which all have adjoining outdoor showers. Two bandas include a platform in which the bed can roll out so guests can spend a night under the stars in comfort. Facilities also include a large sitting area and a swimming pool that looks out over the wilderness. Guests can often view game from the comfort of the lodge that overlooks a watering hole. Facilities at the lodge are run entirely on solar power.IL Ngwesi is a perfect getaway for a honeymoon or a romantic holiday, a family holiday, a weekend away, to relax in privacy and be active as well.  It is run and managed by the Maasai community, and 60% of the income of the lodge goes direct back to the community, unique location, very quiet and vast area to see wildlife, good cuisine, expert guides, 16 rangers

The rooms are open sided to provide panoramic view.Il Ngwesi Lodge is the wilderness experience of a life time, in the heart of Africa. Here, in comfort, you can soak up a totally different world and learn of the amazing Maasai culture.Each banda is built with an open-to-the-bush design. The design allows our guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of wildlife during the day, and sleep out under the stars in the evening.Each room has been expertly crafted with local materials to fit in beautifully with the surrounding environment. The rooms have bathrooms with all the amenities of home. as a special treat, the showers are positioned just outside of the rooms and are open to the bush for wildlife and nature viewing while taking a refreshing shower. Water is heated by a solar-heating.
